Sewing Projects Oliver and S Sunday Brunch Jacket

With her dark hair and porcelain skin anything red is always a winner on Miss O, so when I found this red corduroy I knew it would be the perfect choice for my little lady. Sewn using the Oliver and S Sunday Brunch pattern this little jacket is, as with all Oliver and S patterns, the perfect mix of stylish yet warm and practical jacket for the fashion conscious toddler.

Sewn in Red cotton corduroy I was lucky enough to find the perfect coordinating Liberty print in my stash for the inside of the collar, facing and binding. And whilst making the bias tape and binding the seams took almost as long as sewing the rest of the jacket, the results really are something special. The perfect weight jacket for our mild Sydney winters the lack of lining allows the jacket to have less bulk and makes it easy for little people to move and play whilst remaining warm. I decided to use snaps rather than button holes to make things a little easier for Miss O, being a very independent almost 2 year old, and finished of the jacket with the most perfect mother of pearl heart shaped buttons. Now who’s up for brunch?
